Has anyone here fitted a full size spare in the boot well of a 2013/14/15 Auris Icon/Plus?

Page 661 of the manual shows the full-size spare wheel configuration, which is provided in some markets - probably lose the underfloor storage area

I put a 195/65 x 15 wheel and tyre into the boot of our 2013 hybrid, just to see what it looked like.

This was the result.  The trim over the boot lock has to come off (and then be much modified before refitting?).

Our car came without any spare wheel, I have put a space saver in the boot and keep a full-size spare wheel at home.

If you don't mind the effort and time, try one of your full size wheels in the storage area, without the tool tray.

Do what I did for my Avensis. I had a puncture and hated driving on the space saver, so I bought a secondhand alloy wheel. Read the following -

In the end, the full size wheel fits without the polystyrene tool holder, and the under floor storage trays are in place too.

It seems that makers are now designing the cars with wheel wells for space saver or no space for spare at all! What if you have a bad puncture and have to use an emergency wheel, from a breakdown service . Carry the punctured (dirty) wheel in what may be a full boot area?
Earlier this year, my full size spare was in use for two days, as I had to wait for the correct tyres to be ordered. I still had my space saver, just in case.

Thanks guys, very interesting. The wheel size is 205/55R16. I wonder if the boot well dimension varies between models.
