iPhone failing to connect for music via Bluetooth

I paired my iPhone with the car for the first time and the phone parts works well. But the touch 2 with go keeps failing to connect to the iPhone for music. 

Any suggestions on a fix?

i tried removing the pairing, a soft reset and pairing again.

Did you or anybody else connected any device with your car's bluetooth? If so, then you need to disconnect that. if not, then try a different device to connect with your car's bluetooth and see if the problem is with your iPhone or your car. Good luck.
