Washer jets

Just being getting my 2003 Corolla prepped ready for this year's MOT. Manage to fit some new wipers from the dealer. Quite impressed how cheap they were.

The nearside washer jet seems to be playing up. Only one jet is functioning. Tried a safety pin to no avail but think I slightly shaved some rubber around the jets. I looked on inside of hood and located the feed tube. Can the washer jet be easily removed to see if there is a blockage?

Usually there is a one way valve in the Y-shaped junction in the pipework. Could be that the valve has blocked. Try tracing the junction and see whether the valve is operating OK (ie allowing washer fluid through) - if not replace the junction.

Thanks Frosty. One jet works fine. Have located the back of valve but of course slightly hidden by second skin edging the bonnett

Hello

I`ve replaced mine with T junction for aquarium usage. Working fine now. Factory splitter works as non-returning valve also. So if you replace it with regular T, you can expect a little slower reaction from jets. But otherwise is ok

Under: OEM vs regular junction
