But the MR2 is not the weapon of choice ..

Any suggestions for a car I can get to use and abuse?

Must be the following ..

1. RWD

2. Front engined

3. Long wheelbase

4. CHEAP !!

i spose we could go old skool s13's...

cos the problem with skylines is prolly insurance, just mentioning the name skyline would upset most companies!

An old S13 is good for learning in - then once you got it tapped go with an S14, S15 or Skyline GTS. Whilst you're still learning you'll prolly bang into a couple of things so you'll want something that's cheap and easy to repair too

I know someone who will be selling an S13 soon. He bought it for drifting a year ago, but finds he doesn't have the time to do it any more. The car is an average miler, white and had just had an engine rebuild and a few other pricey S13 problems already sorted.

Mk1 or MK2 escort anyday! I have had 3 Mk2's and 1 Mk1! Best fun you can have and your not to worried bout damaging them! and modifing parts are cheap and readily availible!

Best bet Mk2 escort 1600-1700 crossflow engine(NOT a 2000 pinto! Way too heavy!!!), cam and set of 40's, std g/box, LSD in the back and a set of billies all round with a drop of 2 inches! Set of RS 6J rims and maybe a pair of bucket seats and your away! I had way more fun in my Esc'ies than i do in my AE86 but then again i have grtown up and dont drive as stupid round single width country lanes LOL!

saw a drift slag school on top gear not long ago - the bestest cars they reckoned were the nissans (the turbo's ones) - it wasnt a skyline tho...

For easier drifting you need power and a long wide wheelbase ..

and I'd use it as a daily drive ..

The CA18Det is about the worst engine Nissian ever made. However they solved the problem with the S14 which came with the 2 litre SR20DET, this engine is bullet proof

***** .. S14 it is then ..
