Stripped Threads And Missing Bolt For Tire =/

I pulled off my hubcap to check out a sound from the tire well today and I noticed there were only 3 nuts on there and the 4th bolt's threads were completly stripped.

I just put on new tires about a month ago so I guess it happened then when they put on the new tires :/ I'de go !Removed! at that place if it wasn't a state away.

Anyone know how long it is kinda safe to wait with only 3 nuts on there? I tried buying a new nut and just forcing it on to the good threads left bt it was useless. I don't have to really get a tune up for another 1000 miles to =/

Ideas?

Dunno mate, probably best to check that the 3 left on there are nice and tight each morning before you set off in it!!

Or else you'll have to take it to a mechanic and see if he can score a new thread on it.(messy and time consuming job)

It`ll be okay as a temporary measure IF DRIVEN CAREFULLY. But as TOYMOTA said check them regularly. You ought to get it sorted as soon as possible. Some cars have replaceable studs so you might get lucky. Not really a DIY job unless you know what you`re doing. Best get a workshop to do it. That way you got some kind of guarantee.

Good Luck.

those studs pop out given a hit with a 4 pound hammer thats 2 kilos for some , then hit a new stud in with a lighter hammer

i wouldn't worry about it too much. the 4th bolt is a safty measure. three is good enough, the wheel is not coming off.
