Question For Treuno

Hi Mate,

Just coz you work for Toyota doesn't mean its your fault- NO WAY  I'm addicted to Corolla Executives GL 1989-92ish. All rust at Sunroof & wheel arches. Have seen plenty of the ordinary saloons about without this problem. OK they don't have sun roofs. but they don't seem to rust.

I have a 89 one which I will keep for parts. Rust in chassis, Sun roof, doors & Arches. Came over to Birmingham & picked up a 92 er in good nick, but bubbles coming at one rear arch & One spot (tiny) at S-roof.. Controllable.

But Why? :( . Anything I can do to prevent. Gave it a good Turtle Wax today & will repeat every couple of weks till I get a good layer on. Live by the Sea which doesn't help, but is obviously not the sole cause.

Any help or info will be much appreciated

Alrite buddy, well i cant help you there! Rust is rust and all cars will get it eventually!

Just that some cars were looked after more from when they were new! e.g. Waxoyled reguarlly!

I no all about rust due to i have restored a Hillman Imp/ Mk1 RS2000/ Mk2 Escort sport and now a AE82 GT. But there is no way of stopping it! I tried every rust products/ paints etc out there but it always pops up sum where! :(

You can polish your car as often as possible but it wont stop it rusting due to rust usually starts under the paint and/or between the 2 skins of metal!

Sorry i cant help! its a losing battle! :crybaby:

Unless you buy a brand new car and pump it full of waxoyl and never drive it u wont get a rust free car!
