Halo 2 And Gta Leaked Onto The Internet

Well only one of the most anticipated games ever has just been leaked onto the net one month before its launch. Only works if you have a modded xbox, oh and its in French and has no xbox live support whatsoever.

Also it seems the same has just happened with GTA: San Andreas as well.

Looks like this will be common practice from now on with all the big releases whether it be movies or games.

The guy who leaked the HULK movie was caught after an FBI investigation. Is it really worth risking your job and possibly life to steal something to pass on to others?

Bungie, who make Halo 2 said:

"Last night a pirated copy of Halo 2 was released onto the internet. Needless to say we think this really sucks. Aside from years of hard work being stolen from us, we've gone to great lengths to ensure that the details of the Halo 2 campaign remain a mystery for players to experience for themselves on November 9th. Microsoft is currently engaged in a full scale investigation and to those foolish enough to partake in this piracy, you will soon witness the firepower of this fully operational battle station."

What do you peeps make of the current piracy situation?

erm....

it happens mate. To be expected nowadays.

Piracy has been around for a very long time... and probably will be around for a very long time.

Sure it sucks on the side of the developers, but if a mate brought you a free copy of Halo 2 would you complain ?

This stuff happens, i had Metal Gear Solid 2 and Doom3 way before they got released from a mate on the inside of the video games industry. Way of the world.

Yeah this happens - and to be honest, in a large organistation its gonna happen, and it will be very difficult to track down the culprit!

Its not right, and people who d/l pirated stuff are as scummy as shoplifters - its still stealing you know! But hell, who hasnt got a MP3 or program on their PC 'they happened to get hold of' - but that doesnt make it right..

To be honest, I couldn't care less...

I doubt those leaked games will be the final version, they can't be played online (where applicable)

and they're not Half-Life 2,

there's more important things going on in the world for me to get bothered about a little software piracy, sorry.

Im not judging here, and dont take this the wrong way, but in another post where someone overstated the injuries of an RTA to make a little bit on the side you replied with "Scum, sub human scum"

Isnt stealing, stealing, either way?

I was making an open debate. I never stated which side of the fence I sat on or what my own personal opinion is.

And the people who make Gran Tourismo are called Polypohny Digital :P

This has been going on for years, and much longer in the states than it has here (as we always follow their trends)

I can remember some of my american chums downloading all the latest games, windows, office, etc back in 98/99 when they all had broadband before the UK even knew what broadband was.

Software companies budget for this software piracy, they rely on companies/organisations to spend the money in order to make a profit.

and comparing a £30 unfinished game to £3500 pinched from every honest/decent driver is a little bit much.

Like I said, there's far more important issues going on for me to get passionate about this subject.

Don't care about Halo 2 because its Microsoft, and they deserve everything they get in my opinion.

But its bound to happen. It always does, and it has done for years so I don't think any of these developers are going to get any less money than usual. They should apply good protection on their games before and after release.
