Speed Traps

if you go past a police car too fast, thats been there watching traffic hidden slightly all day, then they dont chase you.. are you safe? i remember seeing somewhere that the cams they have only clock your speed then they have to chase you to get your details, this true? im pretty sure its only the video vans that take the full picture of your plate etc.

there's no way of knowing what systems are installed in the cars nowadays. Up here the cars are fitted with NRS systems that read the plates in an instant and can instantly check for things like tax/insurance on a database. There is an audible warning in the patrol car that the suspect vehicle has a 'flag' against it and it gets pulled.

The police have some real high tech toys now. The only way to truly avoid them is to be legal and watch your speed !

i was always told that if there isnt a flash then they have to stop you, only photographic evidence can be used to convict through post, everthing else you have to get stopped for, dont take my word for it though as ive only been told this and not bothered lookin into it

Nut, There's a time and place for everything...

Ever considered all the reasons why race tracks and qtr miles were built?

I'm not saying I don't have fun on the roads, but you got be aware of your surroundings and other road users. Don't take chances, otherwise you'll get done - it's that simple.

in germany they have a good system................

all GATSO's were removed due to them being proven to be inaccurate

over more than one lane, SO, the government still needed to make an effort to slow people down in towns, so, they put sensors at the start of most towns that warn you if you are going to fast. then about 100yds down the road there is another sensor that checks your speed  , if you are going to fast there is a set of traffic lights about another 100 yds down the road that WILL stop you. if you don't stop at the lights and the camera on top of the traffic lights get you..........it's simple................you lose your license <_<

definately the way forward

I don't like repeating myself, Nut...

a) I have had fun on normal roads in the past and probably will do again (when the time is right)

B) Agreed

c) Debatable (sp?)

But I'll also add that you're prepared to do the crime, then you gotta be prepared to do the time (stupid ryme thing  ... :D )
