Does anyone know if it is possible to save just a section of a track when downloading it from a cd without additional software?

I've just got a new phone with mp3 and dont want to download over 6 minutes worth of music just for my ringtone.

Is there a way of extracting just 20 seconds worth without buying any other programs?

Download/Buy an audio editing package. I use Sonic Foundary Vegas for all my Video/Audio.

You can drop in the track, trim it then rebuild it into a file easy

Sorted now thanks, i found in Nero there is a wave program which allows you cut, edit and merge so i can now cut out the long long intro.

Cool Edit Pro can be found/purchased on the net

use "dB powerAMP" its free and does a great job, i use nero to cut track then convert it to a mono 56k track at 44100hz, i used to have motorola v600 which could send mp3s over bluetooth to other mobiles, now i have nokia 7610 and it keeps tellin me i havent the licence, anyone know what to do?

Think its prob best just saving as a WAV anyway.. its not like your mob has 200watt uber clear Speakers.. you wont be able to tell the diference.

I use Creative Labs Wave Studio and record them as a medium sized mono file.
