Hi there

right, just got a new PC! put all parts in meself and running fine.

not sure if youve heard of a game called battlefield 1942 or not, but my internet works fine before it, but when i go into a server on battlefield to pay a game, it says failed to connect to server, so i close it and all my internet has gone off.

why does it do this? :ffs: one of the main reasons i bought this PC was so i could play this game.

someone must know

you dont have to turn firewall off!! gooood no!

Just forward the ports that the game uses...

Just search for battlefield Ports, then look in manula for router/firewall to figure out how to forward the ports.

Cheers

have you got a router? gateway? some broadband modems have hardware firewalls

Try 192.168.0.0

or

192.168.0.1

If they dont work.... find out yourself

You might find this useful in regard to your router

http://www.portforward.com/routers.htm

You still need to find out ports of Battlefield Vietam, AND what your network Ip is..

not your internet, So you can open access from outside through the battelfield port, to YOUR I.P. only

This should look simular to 192.168.0.3 or thereabouts....

If its 123.456.345.343 (that style) you are using wrong ip.

nah no router, the server is connected to the net

the car PC, other PC and laptop use the net by connecting to http://server_name on port 8080 (this works ok)

games on port 1080 but it doesnt work, even tried with both firewalls off
