Buying A New Rav4

I'm in the process of shopping around for the best deal on a new XT4 2.0 VVTi Auto, and have been quoted 20,384 by drivethedeal.com (this includes metallic paint and road tax). This is approx 1300 less than my local dealer in Aberdeen is quoting.

I have a few queries :

1. Does anyone have any experience of buying a car through drivethedeal.com or other Brokers / Supermarkets?

2. Does the price I'm being quoted sound reasonable - should I expect a bigger discount and/or Toyota dealers that will pricematch Brokers / Supermarkets? (Bearing in mind I will be collecting the car week before Xmas, should I be more agressive?)

3. Any thoughts on the Auto vs. Manual performance? I can't test drive a manual as I'm currently in the US and have got very lazy and used to Auto driving. Realise that mpg goes down almost 10%, but any other performance issues?

Thanks for your help,

Rob

Yeah i went with borkers 4 cars and i must say they were excellent and it was well worth it considering the money i saved.we got the XT3 5 Door in Black. The only drawback was that i live in Peterborough and i had to pick the car up from Croydon but it was worth it when we got there.

Thanks guys - appreciate the info.

On the brokers4cars site they had an XT5 listed as an option - is this correct?

If so what is the spec / difference with XT4?

As from 1st December there will be RAV4 XT5, There is silght model spec revisions to range, XT2 is replaced by the XT3, So range will be 3 Door XT3 only and 5 Door, XT3, XT4 and new XT5.

The RAV4 XT5 will come with heated front seats, full-map satellite navigation, cruise control, automatic anti-glare electrochromic rear view mirror and RAV4 branded aluminium scuff plates, Of course the price is much higher, The XT4 should have come with this kit to being with when the 2004 Model Year was launched :( As that is exaclty what I wanted and hoped would be available since the rest of Europe got all these option since the 2004 Model Year was launched arrgghhh !!

Details available on RAV4 range changes :-
