Jobsworth Police!

Rant on:

I was pulled over tonight and done for registration misinterpretation!

Apparently my front number plate is import size and as my cars not an import, its illegal!

i would have minded but the place i bought it from said it was ok, its got all the british standard marks on it etc etc so i wasnt bothered!

Anyway he took photos of my plate to send to the DVLA. They will then decide whether or not to withdraw my private reg! This shouldnt be allowed, i mean i was given my plate for graduation present and i will be seriously miffed if they do this!

he gave me a £30 fine for a vehicle defect and didnt even ask to see my docs etc. In fact he even told me i dont have to replace my plates if i dont want to as he want giveing me a producer.

To say i'm :censor: off tonight is an understatement! i was going to throw him the yarn about catching burgulars and that he wouldnt be so fast if someone was nicking my stereo but i couldnt be bothered!

if you read the paperwork from DVLA when you get your p/plate, it says that if you, use the plate in the wrong way, try and make it say something else or put the letters in the wrong spaces then they have the power to take it back

But your plates were not legal ..

Sorry, but if I murdered someone and then said it's okay cause the knife was a present ..

You may feel they (the police) should be doing something else .. but there isn't much grey area when it comes to breaking the law ..

Yep I read this when I got mine, caught some copper looking at mine this morning, quite honestly though where I am in London during the week it's such a ghetto even they daren't get out of their cars to do anything about it!

But the point is the place i got my plate from sold it me as a "legal" plate!

What gives! I'll just have to wait and see!

Actually no the DVLA own all reg no.s what you buy is the right to use it.

They can revoke it off you, but I have never actually heard of them doing it!!!!!
