Good luck with the new job vmail, hope all works out for you.

Consider renting for a while as the house market seems to be slowing if not falling in some areas. Not sure about Hull though if the demand is there and the houses from what I am hearing here are cheap in that area then it may be worth grabbing something as soon as possible. Just a thought, check the market.

And enjoy yourself in what's voted 'The worst city in the UK'. :P

How dare you say that!

I was born in Hull lived there most of my life.

It is NOT! the worst city in the UK.

It's the worst city in the universe!

I envy you mate!

My partner studied nursing in Hull and worked there for a couple of years as well, so I got to spend a lot of time there (I even dossed about on the Dole for a year in her flat).

I think of all the places she lived I liked Hessle the best. But then there's lots of areas around Hull with a real village feel to them (which I like). IMO it's a much nicer place than Bristol where I am.

And yes, Houses are v.cheap in Hull! I echo what Giddlepin says, avoid Bransholm, and Orchard Park! they are rough as f :censor: .

Make sure somebody takes you out to Spiders for a night out! I don't think anyone is allowed to visit Hull and not go to Spiders at least once.

Happy hunting fella, sounds like you got your work cut out and may need to comprimise.

Generally you will only get 3x your salary or combined salary if with partner. In the peak of the boom 1-2 years ago you could get 5x but mainly from unheard of companies. Be careful how much you take on and good luck.

My 2 pennies!

Good Luck!

I've only been through Hull on my way to the ferry, but house prices seem much lower than up here...
