Sounds like Blaster.. but thats quite old. Crashing as in shutting down or just feezing?

If it's reg closing IE..have you installed SP2?.. cos when i did, the machine went !Removed! up..

Grab me on MSN next time I'm on. I've got some software I can drop over for you.

could be anything, but 'my pc keeps crashing' is pretty vague

when in doubt, reformat and reinstall windows :)

sometimes graphics cards and sound cards can clash, so unless you're a weirdo you'll either have an ATi or nVidia card - check the links for drivers

www.nvidia.com

www.ati.com

could even be overheating, unlikely as it may seem..

you can also download a free trial of norton antivirus 2005 to check for virus's

i'd still reinstall windows :)

Shelly.... try running Adaware and some Antivirus

Adaware : www.lavasoftusa.com <-- adaware6.0 (I think)

AVG(antivirus) : www.grisoft.com <-- free edition

Both good and free little pieces of software that will probably give you some indication of what you are dealing with, and if not that... then rules out a few bits n bobs too :)

Good luck hon :)

you running a firewall for your internet connection and what operating system are you running?

try going in to control panel>>> add/remove programs and remove anything that sounds suspicious

then run adaware or spybot

then get a firewall up and running

It's not spyware, the disk is ok and dont need a defrag no strange *.exe files on the machine.

It's just sites that use java the machine hangs. Think it's due to the 135mb java applet that sits in the tool bar is messing it up. seems to try and run a million times

Ill sort it for you tomorrow

How many apps have you got running in the background?

99.99% of problems are caused by things like Realplayer and Quicktime hiding in the background using your resources etc
