Not sure nowadays with the speed cameras with the 3 lines on the floor.

If you get stopped/seen by the police they just contact the DVLA.

Dont think you get any grace time..even though i have done mine on the 2nd of the month before (slapped wrists!!)

Owneres/keepers who fail to re-license their vehicle (or declare SORN) will incur an automatic penalty of £80 (reduced to £40 if paid within 28 days)

DVLA will carry out a computer check each month to identify those vehicles without a valid tax disc.

normaly they give you a month.

and voice about the mobile phones. a copper pulled me up for beeping my horn at someone who pulled out infront of me, on a roundabout, while they had a phone to there ear. justice eh!
