Manifold

Anyone know (maybe kevin at envy) if there is a 4 to 1 exhaust manifold for the Yaris? I seem to remember talking to someone about it, and them saying there was one in the states that could be bought and shipped for a total of only around £150-£180?

I'd like one that can just bolt straight on and can connect with the OEM downpipe. Unfortuantly the really nice 4-2-1 version Nizan/drb5 had/has is cat-bypass which is just too much hassle for myself. I plan on getting a custom centre pipe (remove middle silencer) and a high-flow CAT. If I could just get a manifold then all i'd need is a custom downpipe! Complete new stainless exhaust system!

Hey s0cks! Get the 4-2-1 m8! Not tryin to knock what Jaxx said, but i've been reading that you do get a better flow from the 4-2-1 and all you need to sort the engine light, is the wee thing i got from PPE Engineering. So far, after a few weeks usage, no light and feels well good!

Read about the manifolds on here....

drb is right a 4-2-1 s a better option but will be more wonga

up to you

and no socks your wrong

it goes...

ELP manifold - cat - mid box - back box

yaris doesnt have down pipes, the manifold is the entire thing

as for DRB it goes

4-2, 2-1. backbox!

and thats it!

:hokus-pokus:

As far as I know, THAT IS NOT the EL Prototypes product but a cheap copy...

Other respected companies that have headers for the 1NZ-FE engine are:

- DC Sports

- Megan Racing

Do a search on e-bay with the keywords:"scion headers" and you will find them...

Here is a really good deal on the Megan ones:

Megan Headers on E-Bay

I think I'll get myself one as well...

Looking at reviews and info on these new headers - they don't give that much of an increase. Tested on the scion (same engine and ecu as yaris/vitz) it gave only a 1-2hp and 2-3torque increase on the rollers.

It seems I may be better off with getting the cat-back done and an induction kit - which would gave (in the review) more like 3 to 4hp each.

Also, trying to find some cams for the Yaris. Can't find any. I hear they give nice bhp figures (5-8bhp on a Yaris i rekon) but can somewhat make the car thirsty.

Any info?

It isn't all about bhp remember, bigger brakes and better suspension should see you driving faster also!

The T-Sport brakes can more than cope with the current power. In time, yes they'll b upgraded. Just want some bhp first. Is that so wrong? :(

Nuthin wrong with that mate, I would do it if i thought it wos worth it on a 1 litre! Remember to look into chipping it (like drb5) and short shifters etc!

Yer I know. But add up the cost of the engine and exterior mods prior to the chip and its quite expensive.
