hi and thanks for help so far! when i'm in 4th gear and ease off the go pedal my gearstick moves about an inch forward, when i accelerate again it moves back into position, is this a worn gearbox? :(

More than likely it`ll be a gearbox/engine mount. Possibly the rubber has perished or there could be a bolt missing.

Hang on though. Gearbox is cable operated. Not sure this would apply......... Check them anyway.

storm, my 87 convertible is the same and my 90 gt4 is also the same. think its just a common problem and i never worry about ti.

:D Thanx carlos.. would be interested to hear about your modifications and where u got parts, only had my gen 4 conv for 2 months but i feel that its going to cost me both arms and a leg!! worth it though! I use 18" Evo wheels with 215/35 R18 boots in the summer, feel every twig on the road! Oh and the roof leaks..dont they all! Cheers, Mark
