My Mum has a T-reg Yaris and today was told by a T Dealer that she needs a whole new exhaust. They have quoted her £1000. Am Assuming it's a standard Toyota part they want to put back on.

Now I know zip about Yarii but come on - U CANT BE SERIOUS. It's a flipping Yaris not a Supra....

Can anyone shed some light on this ridiculous pricing...........

a TAD would be an understatement yes.....

She is down in Wales and just rang me so I told her to tell them they are having a laugh............

What should the approx prices be for a Yaris Exhaust system?

I honestly don't have a clue cos i live in Cyprus, I know that over here it's nowhere near that much, but exhausts over here are cheaper in general. If i was you, get your mum to shop around a bit first, get some quotes, cos goin from the dealer is always going to be more expensive!

Remember they quote for like 6weeks labour for a 1hr job :ffs:

A full exhaust system? Sounds like daylight robbery..******s.

take it to have a full stainless system made but with normal silencers to keep it schtum and itll cost about 400quid

and last longer than the car!

They will have to reduce that price - its robbery. The exhaust probably only costs a few hundred at most. And this is the dealer I may be lookng at buying a Celica from..................hmmmmm

Why on earth would your Mam need a full exhaust any way, did it fail and emmisions test?

I can get OEM parts if it come to it, but I can't really see why.

Does she have a local ish Kwik Fit or similar?

£1000? Is it titanium?

Ring around and get some quotes, yellow pages etc, if you/she pays that amount then you need a check up from the neck up!

It must be a new Fujitsubo with a full stainless cat-back system and a sports cat!:lol:

Go to other dealers and shop around mate ... if they're not giving you decent prices then i'm sure Kevin @ envy will!

Right........

Thought it sounded WAY WAY WAY OTT.

The problem actually is the CAT thingy - needs to be replaced and as they can't get the Exhaust off due to corrosion it all needs to be replaced. Add on 2 hours labour @ £65/hour plus the usual 17.5% VAT rubbish and it all adds up to a little over £900.

So I told her to tell them to do a Jim Carrey on themselves with the Exhaust (remember THE MASK).

The CAT i think is around £120 ish + VAT.
