Induction Kit

I just bought an induction kit for GT4 but didn't get the airflow mass adapter

so can't fit it !!!

is it possible to fit it without it , eg putting it on the end of the rubber hose directly ?

if so though will it still drive ok without the airflow meter connected ??

As my mate did this to his BMW and it didn't drive as well ??

cheers for any advice as I'm desperate to get it fitted !!!

If you disconnect the airflow meter the ECU will think your getting more air than you are. This will result in massive overfueling = poor running + black smoke, washed bores etc. Not a good idea. just be patient and wait till you get an adaptor.

thought so any idea where I can get an adapter from ??

There are 2 for sale on eBay to fit toyota 86-89 and 94-96 !!

Mine is a 1992 will either of the above fit my model ??

just a normal 1 from eBay with TRD stamped on the top

I could have bought 1 with the adapter as well but it didn't have TRD on !

didn't realise I needed the adapter till I went to fit it !!

Ermm, correct me if im wrong, BUT TRD Don't make induction kits, they only supply rebaged panel filters.

yep. its just a K&N copy with a TRD sticker or logo.

i dont personaly think a cone induction filter is a good idea unless you fabricate a heat shield. thats why i just replaced the stock filter with a K&N panel filtercharger in the stock box.

as far as i'm aware, the adapter is the same size for gen 4 and gen 5, i'm pretty much certain the airflow meter is the same, so the adaptor plate should fit..

if your uncertain, look for adapter plates in USA eBay, and get one shipped over, there are loads at the mo and cost around the same even with P&P..
