Service Conector?

does anyone know where the 'service connector' is??? ive been readig thru the CHILTERN manual to help me diagnose the problem ive got with the abs. it states that i need to disconnect this to get the fault codes. the pic isnt very clear and as the manual is for the american cars doesnt help much

i got that bit sorted but according to the manual i need to disconnect a single wire then short two connectors in that box. its the wire that im looking for. its a 5th gen celica

there should be a silver bridging pin , take this out first

It's in the same place on a gen 5.

Not sure what the wire is that you need to disconnect though. Just bridging E1 to TE1 puts it in diagnostic mode. Is it an ABS specific thing?

its definately a abs fault as it failed the mot for it.

in the manual it states that i need 2 disconect the service wire then bridge the tec thingy. this gives the fault code. has anyone else got a manual???? think i need a new sensor but wana make sure its the correct sensor to replace cuz theyre £120 a pop. unless anyone out there knows how too fool the abs computer into thinkin that the abs is fine so it will turn the warnin lamp off for me ;)

if its tha same as the gen 6 , you need to take out the silver bridging pin , then using wire or a paper clip bridge E1 and Tc press brake and wait for flash , error codes read as follows 31 32 35 36 , i think if i can remember back 35 and 36 are the fronts 31 32 the rears.but if you brake hard the wheel that locks up is the faulty sensor , i got mine for the fronts on a 1995 gen 6 for £ 89 each , rears are £ 120 and £ 126 .ask the toyota sales guy for trade discount , he may give 10 % off - check for a snapped or chaffed wire on the sensors too it could just be a snapped wire somewhere - good luck

ps- if you book the car into a toyota dealers they check the abs system for you for free , they did for me anyways.they give you a report as to which sensor is broken.

if you do it yourself when you get finished replacing the broken sensor , press the brake pedal realy fast 10 times to clear the codes if they dont clear themselves.

The information I have does not list any abs error codes for the gen5 Celica, just be careful if you short the wrong connectors you may damage the ECU
