Hi, can anybody out there tell me what the red button is for on my 94 supra . its located in front of the gear select.

It unlocks the gear selector so you can move it without having your foot on the brake

I still can't figure out why they put these buttons on imports. My car (uk) doesnt have the red button and instead there is a little bit of plastic where the button would have been
