Dash Speaker Grille

HI folks!

A wee while ago I asked about routing cables from my radar detector in a neater way. The suggestions was to feed them through a small hole in the dash-top speaker grille.

Today was the first chance I've had to give it a shot, but I had to give up as I couldn't work out how to get the grille off without mangling it or the surrounding dash-top moulding.

Suggestions?

Answers on a postcard please...

Cheers,

Alan

Edit: Oh no! Sub-heading should read "How do you get it off"

You can use your very versatile Yaris key! Whip it down the side and pop it out! Or, a screwdriver, infact, have a look here:

Just pop off the front ones and it just clips itself out of the back.

Have fun!!

Get a set of components clarky and then you can put the tweeters up on the dash, it seems to be the way to go!

pics?

Nothing to see mate, components come in 2 parts, a speaker and a separate tweeter! I put the Speakers in the doors and the tweeters under the cover on the dash where the old Speakers used to be! Sounds very good!

I'll vouch for that! Sounds pretty impressive.

Haven't got round to doing it tonight due to the snow :) :( (mixed feelings  )

Alan

Ok - I'm new to the whole car hi fi thing - more focused on the rest ...

I've stuck pair of 13cm infinity rear Speakers in and they make a huge difference and now thinking about upgrading the dash and door Speakers.

The dash ones look easy ... how difficult are the door ones?

Did breezer not post a "how to" a wee while ago?

You have to cut a template or something, but it seemed the trickiest thing was re-fitting the door panels.

Did the dash Speakers today - sounds a lot better already and very easy. Had a quick look at taking the door to bits and wimped out - anyone got a decent guide to removing door panels?
