Hello all, ive finially decided on my general run about, im going back to my routes in the form of the retro styled VW Jetta which i think looks sweeeet.

I've had to do this as my beloved tubbie is drinking the juice like its going out of fashion + im wanting to fit a trd wide body kit and slap the BHP up to dizzy height!!! making it a serious project.

Anyway.. does anyone own one of these OR could give me advice in what to look out for in terms of it being nakkrd.

Cheers

Jettas don't hold the same appeal here in the UK as they do in the States... Thinking about it, they don't hold the same appeal in South Africa either...

Must just be you nutty yanks :P

Just kidding...

They used to be renouned for build quality, performance and reliability, but something has gone wrong with german engineering recently and the qualities are not there anymore. I don't think the Jetta is supplied/manufacture to/for the UK market any more.

The New version of the Jetta is the Bora over here...

i knew of one guy who bought the New jetta over in the states & he loved everything about it....

as far as i know - just look for the usual stuff & maybe get a mechanic to check it over before you buy...

good luck

J

What's this nonsense about german build quality 'recently' ?

every jap owner goes on about it all day, so where's the evidence/proof?

German Engineering/Production is top..

The cars are a bit bland at the mo, but not a bad word said against 'Engineering'..

Feel I must point out to you all that Guisborough, Cleveland is about 10 miles from Middlesbrough. Not quite in America !

Don't know that much about the Jetta, but the Bora is a mighty fine car.

My 'Runabout' is an Audi - Can't fault German Engineering.
