Hi everyone,

Sorry for the vague thread title but I don't know what i'm after is called!!

I want to change my toyota CD player for an aftermarket one. Does anyone know where I can get the grey plastic in fill panel to cover up where the old CD player has been. I do have a pic of this which I can e-mail or i'll try and post it somehow. I asked the owner of the car in the pic but he didn't fit the stereo so is not sure.

Thanks, Jenny

Most of us have just put the new radio in the coin box below the standard radio! its a bit of a pain to get the dash off but there is a holder behind that coin box that is actually a standard radio bracket.

Then you need some toyota wiring loom adapters from Halfords for £14 and it should plug into your existing aftermarket wiring loom.

If you want me to send you some photos PM me and you will see what i mean, well worth doing though!

Your standard stock radio then just becomes redundant and doesn't light up etc, but the screen in the dash still works fine (just doesn't show radio stations and cd track info etc!)

Hope that helps

Rob

P.S Hope thats what you mean, but send me the pic if you like so that i know for sure B)

Hi Guys,

Thanks to you both for the info.

Chappers where do you buy the following facia surrounds?

Fascia Surround: T55406-52010-B0 is for the Phase 1 (roughly £38)

Fascia Surround: T55406-52041-B0 is for the Phase 2 (roughly £38)

Double Din Unit - FP-11-03, made by Audioleads, it says for a RAV4 but it will fit the Yaris - from Halfords

ISO lead: PC2-17-4 (toyota one)...... £12 Halfords

I have a 2002 T sport so presume that is a phase 1 model? and presume if headunit includes a multichanger it just plugs in as normal and is wired through to wherever that is placed, in the under seat box seems a good idea.

Cheers, Jenny

If you wanted the changer in the boot its not too hard to cable, and it saves it getting kicked if you have people in the back of your car!

The cabling in mine runs under the passenger side carpet, power on its own down one side and audio together down the other to keep them seperate! Its a bit fiddly the 1st time you take all the trim etc off but its really easy after that!

You might find that the under seat drawer isnt deep enough, or stable enough depending on your brand of autochanger, some have better tolerance to bumps than others!

That picture is not for fitting into Existing slot.. That is with everything needed for a fulll installation.

For just fitting the HU into the existing slot, you would need the ISO lead..

Jenny, Mr T supplies the Fascia Surrounds

Haha, we know all about that one.

Thats alot of extras to fit the CD Player (£90!) but I guess it needs to be done properly.

I guess the Fascia Surround just holds the unit in alot better so it doesn't wobble around?

Double Din Unit does what? Is that the connector?

ISO lead does... is that the connector or something else?

Fascia surround is the big grey plastic bit that replaces the previous CD/Radio, Cassette/Radio or Radio/Casette/CD

Double din part is the black plastic that goes in that newly created space, so you can fit a standard DIN sized head unit.

ISO lead are the leads that connect the OEM wires to the new head unit.

HTH!
