HOPE SOME ONE CAN HELP ME HERE. I HAVE JUST BOUGHT A 1984 TOYOTA CELICA LIFTBACK 2LTR AUTO IN WHITE. IT HAS GENUINE 25,000 MILES(VERIFIED). IT IS IN OUTSTANDING CONDITION INSIDE AND OUTSIDE. EVERYTHING WORKS ON IT I.E ELECTRIC SUNROOF,POP UP HEADLIGHTS,ELECTRIC RADIO ARIEL ETC. I BOUGHT THIS CAR OF A GUY FOR £850 AS HIS WIFE SAID IT WAS EITHER HIS 1100CC APRILLA MOTORBIKE OR HIS CELICA. AS HE IS A MOTORBIKE NUT. HE KEPT HIS BIKE. I HAVE HAD 2 1994/1996 CELICAS BEFORE BUT I HAVE NEVER HAD ONE AS OLD AS THIS AND IN THIS CONDITION. YOUR THOUGHTS AND VIEWS ON MY PURCHASE WOULD BE REALLY APPRECIATED.

Hi axelfoley and welcome to the TOC :) , good to hear you've found a clean generation 3 celica, i've had 2 of them in my time, a coupe and a hatch, the shape is a bit of a acquired taste as its rather angular in looks, but a good solid car all the same.

The 21R engine its note the sweetest engine toyota have ever made, bit gutless and the timing chain can rattle on high milage examples, but it runs on unleaded which is good news...enjoy your new Celica :)

PS..can you turn your CAPS LOCK off,as it looks like your shouting .

The TVR V8 wont fit (the AJPV8) - the TVR version of the Rover V8 (TVR headers etc..) is the one that fits... available in 4.0, 4.5 and 5.0..

:D Thanks for all your replys. Glad to see the response was positive. I will try and get some good pictures of the car. I was out today and totally cleaned it inside and out. lookin good :D
