Hi,

tried starting the R1 up after about 3 months or so - no surprise it didnt start...

anyway put jump leads to it connected to my car and it started up..

anyway after an hour of riding switched it off and it wouldn't start up again....

So... is it a new Battery or will I be able to charge the old Battery up...?

Cheers

I would have thought that an hour of hooning around would have put sufficient charge into the Battery again. However, a good overnight charge will fill it properly. If it still plays up then get it checked.

Any Battery place will be able to test whether your Battery has had it.

Chances are it`s mullered mate. Had the same problem with my cripple last month. £30 quid for a new Battery. Ouch.

Tell you what, I'll take it off your hands for £200 and problem solved :lol:

Seriously though sounds like knackered Battery, best thing to do if you leave it standing for any length of time is disconnect it or get one of those Optimate trickle chargers

Yo Daz - worth asking but no he-he-he :D

Was perfect before i parked it up so its probably the Battery...

I did think i'd keep going back to it to start once a week but weeks turned into months.... and well out of sight out of mind :bye:

I leave my ZX-12R practically on charge all winter on an Oxford Optimiser as this is what they are designed for. Starts first time, nay bother. Initally, before I got the charger, my '12R would get real low on the Battery after 2 weeks due to the alarm / immobiliser. The Optimiser recovered the Battery from less than 3 volts and now she's fine. :)
