Hello folks, If we dont use the car for a couple of days it is very hard to start- it is fitted with a Cobra 7928 Alarm and Immobiliser; an auto electrician said you do always get a leakage or loss of charge due to the way an alarm system is functioning could anyone tell us if this is true please? :help: many thanks Jim.

the only power an alarm uses is a flashing led.

Ideally that's true maleborn, but the alarm on my Audi developed a fault whereby it worked fine every time, but periodically drained the Battery completely within a few hours.

An alarm functioning properly shouldn't drain the Battery within a couple of days ! If it is, and you can confirm that it's the alarm, then I'd suggest replacing it. It's not going to fix itself - it'll either stay the same or get worse.
