Friends Car Vandalised In Mansfield

My best friends car was vandalised Sprayed green paint on gold (most has come off) late last night/early this morning in the mansfield area, it was the only one damaged out of 5 or 6 cars.

It was her first night staying in her flat so she's really upset, and doesn't want to stay there.

I know this sounds stupid but I want to find out if she's moved into or near a rough area. If so, fine she can deal with mindless vandalism.

She's just wants to make sure it's not a colour/religious issue,

Please understand I'm not just referring to colours white/asian/black, it's more volitile between Sikhs & Muslims. I wanna know if she's near rough areas.

I don't wanna say where she is staying in mansfield cos it might cause offence to others in here, I'd prefer people to tell me areas, estates, roads even, to avoid.

She's got to go to work next monday and commuting to and from Brum is not a good idea when you work 8am-6

That is awful, really does peev me off when i hear stories like that. Its a disgrace.

a good way to tell is by house prices, not a brilliant way but its a start, stick your friends postcode in, then put in mansfield and compare the difference in house prices, generally rougher areas are going to have lower house prices. i think crime figures are also listed.

Mansfiield has its scum just like anywhere else but this is terrible, although there has been a spate of vandalism and gang fights rcently!

Sorry, but i wouldn't live there if i was paid, all you see on theese tv shows is mansfield and slough... i know it will have it's nice areas too, i'm not that knieve, but why did she move to mansfield in the first place?

Sorry too those who live there, i mean no offence in the slightest, but i'm sure you can understand where i'm coming from.i would sooner live in Glasgow in the 60's.

But it's true that there are idiotic fools in every town/city, spoiling what could be a lovely place to live, for others.

I have been in Mansfield once, the houses looked superb, thy looked like "bought houses" worth tens of thousands, but it was a council estate, windows were boarded up, burned out cars in the street with kids as young as 7 jumping on them, and on others cars too, no adults to be seen, i was glad to get back to my car and see it in one piece. I don't know the exact district of Mansfield it was, or the name of the street.

You cant really generalise though - all towns and cities have "good" areas and "bad" areas......

People get all funny when I say I live near Leicester - because apparently Leicester is quite bad, but I have never noticed anything myself.... I live 8 miles away from Leicester itself, however my address is classed as a Leicester address according to the Royal Mail..... go figure!

I hope your mate is ok Rich - must have been a shock after her first night staying there - its probably just mindless vandals though - we had it when we moved here - 2 weeks after we moved in, some kids slashed my partners tyres - but everythings been fine since then.....

The problem is the Media link them to aston. For example

the New years shootings happened on the edge of Aston/Birchfield fair enough, but it was between people from other areas not Aston.

But another 2 incidents happened in Witton (Witton Road) & Perry Barr (ASTON Lane) but they said Aston because it tied the stories together easily.

Anyway I've deviated from my own topic.

this is terrible!!..but im not al that surprised either....BUT and this is the biggie..it could well have happened anywhere...lets just hope it was kids being silly.....and that your friend is able to get over this horrible incident :)

I know you are right, a friend lives in Solihull (nicer area) but it borders on a roughish area and the kids he caught trying to mess with his car were from the rougher side. That's why I didn't wanna say till I got some INFORMED opinions.

and whats wrong with saying mansfield is a ***** hole????? if all i hear is people saying it is, and i think it is how am i supposed to think it is'nt. the majority of residents are either pikeys, chavs or dole scammers. its a good place if you want to steel a car......... + even the coppers say its a ***** hole.

The only place that ive experienced in mansfied is berryhill thats not too bad. Mainly due to its a new estate built by George wimpey i may go there once or twice a month to set out new buildings and survey roads but twice in two months our vehicles have been broken into when its clearly visable there is nothing in them

It seems my friends car being vandalised was just a random attack on the new car in the area. The week has gone ok with no more incidents.
