Genuine Or Being Scammed?

I've just had a call from a guy called henrick in Sweden who is interested in my car and is coming over next week and will be taking one home with him.

He has done this before apparently, keeps it for a while and then sells them on at a profit as they are so rare over there.

He seemed very knoweledgeble about supras and asked lots of tech questions about it.

I'm not sure whether it is a scam or not because of the following:

*He has given me his email and home telephone number

*has done it before (or at least knew a fair bit abouth them)

*flying over and wants to take one back with him? how if flying?

*does want more pics and info

*scammers only normally contact via email and offer asking price with bad english

I'm really 50/50 i've had scams before but this is different and sounded quite itelligent

So, what are your thoughts towards this guy?

So long as the funds are clear in your account before he takes the car then what the hell......... :D

He'll probably be driving via ferry back home.

Take his photograph if you can when he comes. Just in case you know..........

In scams though, doesn't the funds clear and then get taken back out? or have grabbed the wrong end of the stick?

What Gordy said plus meet him at a place of your choice, though not your home. Doesn't hurt to be careful.

Don't be alone when you meet him, have friends(preferably big scary ones :arrgg-matey: ) and be in a VERY public place.

Its not unheard of for the guy coming to have a gun and take your car and anything else. A guy here was recently arrested for that in Michigan or Ohio I think.

A sad reflection of the society we live in don't you think?

LOL I disagree with this. There have always been bad apples in society. Highwaymen for instance...

Go to your bank with him and pay the cash straight into your account BEFORE you give him the keys.

Bank tellers are supposed to be able to spot dodgy notes and if it all goes into your account and THEN turns out to be dodgy later it isnt your problem its the banks

Once the bank accepts the money (genuine notes or not) your 100% safe ;)

That's a very good tip. He'd run a mile if the cash was dodgy and you suggested this.

Hope it all works out OK and the guy is gen.

If he's truly shady, he'll run a mile if you insist on being in a public place. A resaurant would be good.
