Hey computer geeks out there, I have got some rather large files that I wish to burn onto a cd, they are MPEG's, ranging from 550 MB to 900+MB. The times range from 20 mins to over 2 hours. How can I, if at all possible, compress the files down to fit onto a 700 MB cd, which, when burned, must be able to play in a domestic, NOT PC, DVD player? So basically, I wanna compress large MPEG's onto a 700 MB cd, and watch THAT cd in a home DVD player. NE1 help?

alotta !Removed! :D

Youd need a dvd player that supports certain files...

Get a dvd burner, 50 quid for a dual layered one... Get in there!!

For the 550mb mpeg burn that as a data cd useing nero.. this should fit on a 700mb cd without a problem.. if your dvd player supports the format.. it will play. As for the 900mb file, use an mpeg splitter (similar to the one here).. and split it into to two files.. then burn each file to a seperate cd useing nero as before

Edit: try http://www.videohelp.com/ for more good info on burning video files

If your dvd player supports div x you can fit about 9999 milionbillion onto one cd, or something like that.

Otherwise make a Video disc, plays on most DVD players it what most copied DVDs are, can be low(er) quality. Like a VCD/Video disc, called different things.

One does not have !Removed! on one's computer. One has other, more important data on one's computer. :P When one has as many ' female acquaintance's ' as me, one does not require such material. Anyway. I shall have a go at the splitting of files thingy. Fanx guys.
