Hi there and welcome to TOC.

Talk to Kevin Clarkson of S&M Services. He's been fixing Toyotas for over 15 years, is reasonable and reliable and he did the engine transplant in my Corolla :D . He's in Droitwich on 01905 778368. Tell him John Payne sent you. :)

Thanks for the reply, John. Was hoping for something closer, but in the absence of that will try S&M. You must of built up a decent relationship over 15 years.

Hi mate B)

Welcome to TOC

You can try the bloke I use.

Blue Streak Autos (Richard is the man to speak to) 01604 759966. He is Ex-Toyota, now independant specialist and really knows his stuff. They are based in Northampton.

He works on pretty much all the club MR2's in Northants including his wife's Rev2. I have club member traveling down to him from Rugby, Coventry and Birmingham based on my recommendation.

Tell him I (Garrick) sent you, he'll know then to quote you good prices ;)

There's a fair bit to do around near where his garage is so you can drop off your car, go to a movie and/or have a meal whilst he is working on your car

Kevin at S & M Services (dodgy name that) gave me a good quote for replacing my troublesome overheating engine with one sourced from Nippon Spares, so thanks again for you help John, I mentioned your name as advised.

Sorry to drag this up, but I just rang Richard @ Blue Streak Autos, and he quoted £70 for the 20K service, so needless to say, I'm pretty damn happy! :D

Cheers Garrick! ;)

There's a independant Garage in Warwick Called Murley Toyota (Nelson Lane), there very cheap and use genuine toyota parts. I take all of my cars there, they even collect and deliver you car as part of the service.

Well, It's booked in with Rich at Blue Streak Autos.

Contacted Murley Toyota, and they wanted about £175, and for some bizarre reason, wanted to give the car a full brake fluid change - thought that was a 4yr job? (As in do, once every 4 yrs, not that it takes 4 yrs to do! :D).

Rich quoted £70, and I'll be dropping the car off Monday morning at 9:30am!

We're in Stoke-on-Trent, and one of the cheapest authorised repairers around

That's good to know Chris. ;)

Unfortunately, I can't come and see you, as you're further away than Northampton is to me already. :D

I know you mentioned you are a repairer, but do you also do servicing?

If you do, it might be worth letting the people on here know that too. ;)

we are a full blown authorised aftersales centre, just the same as a dealer but without the showroom. So we do Servicing, repairs, warranty and bodyrepais

Top job!

Got the car serviced and stamped for £63.

Oil and filter change, and general inspection - handbrake tightened, etc.

Spotted my tyres were low, so I've put a pair on order.

Dropped off at 9:30am, finished at 11:30am.

Would say though, if you don't like reversing, then get them to do it, as there is a single-track lane to them, and there isn't enough space to turn round once in their yard, so you have to reverse about 80 yards down the lane, between some steel fencing! :D
