Since getting rid of the Supra. i've wanted a convertible for the summer but didn't want to drop too much power so.....................

I've gone for this for the next 6 months or so before I go back to Toyota in the autumn.

No bmw drivers jokes - it won't change the way i drive! :P

Its the 6 speed Evo convertible with 321BHP, it was either this or a TVR but reliability was a major factor.

Yeah its the M3 evo, which isn't the one I wanted as its an extra £400 a year insurance over the standard M3 but after driving one it had to be as it was the closest i found to the supra

nope... no jokes here - M3 evo convertible - very nice car :D

Although if it was me, i would've gone for the TVR - all that torque and the burble from the V8... mmmmmm

I went to look at a couple and been a frequent visitor to the TVR forums but they are so unreliable -so many stories of thing falling off at random and breaking down regularly. I use my car everyday and couldnt put up with that - thats the reason I chose a supra over the lotus esprit first time round.

But I agree they are very nice esp with the tuscan light conversion ;)

JUST A SHAME IT'S A BMW ..

OK... So a priest, a rabbi and a BMW driver walk into a pub..

j/k... LOL

Congrats man. It must be fantastic to have the funds to drive a car like that. BMW jokes are just made by the bitter and jealous. I love the cars. My tastes are a little different. I'd kill for one of the brilliant 330d diesels you get there, they are notably absent stateside, thanks to our cheap fuel. :(

So no more Supra? What are your driving besides the BMW these days?

The BMW's that tend to wind people up are the modern 'base model' sedan 'Rep' mobiles driven by 'chinless wonders' :censor: with mobile phone permanently attached to their ear :censor: :censor: (at times when I see scum driving with a mobile phone I'd love to have a 'Charley G' mounted on the car ... ) and the 'Drug dealer/"bling, bling gold jewelery"/blacked out window' brigade (at least the blacked out windows stop people recognising who they are laughing at :lol: ). Convertables and older BMWs tend to have a more decent member of society drive them and thus liked (I always like the old 'Baur' convertables and the 70's 1502, 1602 and 2002 range)

You did well to keep away from TVR ... a lot of money for a car that constantly breaks down! If I paid as much as is required for a TVR I'd want the car to be perfect!

All in all a very nice choice (hope there's a nice summer for you).

erm, I hate to tell you this mate - but the M-power engines are probably as reliable as the TVR RV8's - with very similar servicing intervals and costs...

But if you were looking at the straight-6, then thats a different matter...

Agreed, the actual block is....

but go onto pistonhedas and the TVR forum, they're all forever having a oil leak or a coil pack up or the indicator stalk snapping off.

Its all the small annoying things coupled with the odd expensive thing that just adds up to way too much hassle as a daily drive. IMO anyway

I suppose I should be grateful.

The problem is when you have cheap fuel, you get to drive on roads full of these:

AlexExcursion_003.jpg

Threatening the safety of people driving socially responsible cars, taking up two parking spaces, driving aggressively and haphazardly, blocking your view and so on.

I would GLADLY pay $3.00 a gallon for gasoline to rid the roads of most of these :censor: things.

Let the guys with small :censor: compensate with Viagra instead.
