Right people im thinking the t sport would sound well with some sort of air filter on it for the time being... Im not too hot on stuff for the yaris just yet so can anyone recommend some sort of induction kit/panel filter for the car?

Want something straight forward and hassle free that wont turn on any warning lights or screw up fuel economy!

Cheers

Ruth

best airfilter----------------->KN or TTE, I will measure in the short future the maximum airflow using my obd scanner and tell you the results

here is something you can choose by:

Technical Comparison

those tests are done on a turbo supra so unfortunatelly you don't get the same hp gain on the Yaris...  ;)

To be realistic I would take those gains and cut them by 2/3 for the Yaris. Figure on 4-6 horsepower gain. That's fair I'd say. That is what I have seen from the tests done on the Scion's with the 1NZ-FE. Subtract a tiny bit more for the 1.0 or 1.3 I'd say.

They are one of the few shadetree mechanic mods that may be worth it, though some of these induction kits are pretty damn expensive for the gains they deliver. Most of the dyno tests I've seen show that they do at least as much as new exhaust system and headers and they do it without robbing low-end torque like headers can.

Just MHO, but I think fancy spark plugs, plug wires and just about everything else short of forced induction is a waste of money. There's no evidence any of them produce worthy gains of any kind so save your money.

APEXI all the way, its silent at < 3500rpm, but boot it and it sound nice! I like it as it silent most of the time.

I agree totally, i think were most likely to get about 2bhp increase and thats when you relocate the apexi.

I relocated mine and its worth it it suck cold air in not warm. I read that scion test, the one were they fitted muffler, air filter, backbox and manifold.

It was an interesting read, and gave a good idea of wht to expect from the t sport.

The airfilter actually gave a good increase!

Gonna be doing the relocation myself later this month and when I say 'I' - I mean Envy are!

The apexi does sound good, other options are bltiz or HKS
