If i dont buy the cable. I cant drive my car.

Best option for me is to buy the cable i think!!!  :P

you could make a warranty claim mate if you are still on warranty.

that would cover the parts and labour costs

what about your mate who works at MR T? :P

My mate works for Arnold Clark but they have a Toyota dealership where he gets the parts from. He cant get the cable any cheaper than i can. I dunno why, but he cant!!

Got the cable on today, it took about 30 minutes to fit. Pretty easy even laying under the car with a jack supporting it.

Is it all back to normal now then?

Its a cable linkage on these & im not sure if it could be a fault with it. I may check with Toyota

Thanks

They do have a cable linkage and there are known issues with this tranny. Nothing severe, but I'd heard of shifter cable problems and then low and behold, mine got a little dodgy, sort of how he describes and one day on the way home from work I just lost EVERYTHING but first gear. Cable snapped or became disconnected!

Luckily it was fixed under warranty though and I used it as an excuse to fit a TRD short shift kit. ;)

Haven't had any difficulty since.

The transmission I've got is called C150 I beleive, but it's possible they are not identical to what you have in your Yaris, but it's likely they are.
