Rear Door Rattle In Previa

My yr 2000 previa CDX is great except for one thing - the back door doesnt ever seem to stop rattling! Whenever you go over a bump or irregularity in the road it shudders and squeeks. I have tried loosening off the lock hardware and repositioning it in the hope of getting the door shut tighter but it made no difference. I bought it second hand and I am now begining to wonder whether maybe it got hit from behind and repaired badly? However I cant see any evidence of repair when i remove the trim. Does anybody have similarly tuneful rear doors? Is there any way to shut it up?

could it be something inside the door making the noises, have you thought about removing the panel and looking behind? Do the windows go up and down smoothly? im just thinking it could be a loose runner or something else inside hitting the window or squeeking against it. Maybe its had a new glass put it one of the doors? do all your windows have the security marking on them?

Hi Hiwasse

our previa 03 cdx also has a squeak and rattle from the back door, it has never been in an accident to cause such a noise we just seem to live with it,

I wonder if it could be some kind of rubber guide blocks on the edge of the door/ door frame.

Just recently the rear door latch has stopped unlocking but thats another story.

My rear sliding door is a swine to close you have to really slam it then it bounces back so it's not properly closed , you have to stand outside and push the rear of the door as you close it.

The top runner seems very loose but it's behind the rear quarter light glass so how do i get to it to check it ?
