Got my new yaris t sprt yesterday and i must say i am so impressed with it!

One thing tho, is when i turn a bend mainly when i turn to the right iget a kind of grinding/ rubbing soundfrom somewhere over the left side. I have no idea what it could be! :(

Has anyone had any simular symptoms that might be able to tell me what it is?

Cheers!

Nit Nat! :P

but it only does it going to the right? <_<

I wondered whether it could be the bearings on that side?

no its an 03 plate so about a year and a half. it did it on the test drive so the dealership said they would fix it saying it was the exhaust. So they fitted me a new one for when i collected it yesterday.

I only realised it when i got back to swindon as the roads were all straight coming home.

Have you lowered it, aftermarket rims?

Tyres?

Or driving too fast round corners?

My pee flaps used to scrape on corners so i took them off..

If u have a look at the tyres & find out where they are rubbing then that mite give u a clue.

Also, have a look at the inside of the front tyres when u turn the steering round full lock. It may be that there has been a new steering rack or track-rod ends fitted to it & they havent adjusted them properly

Just another idea

the stone deflector behind the discs might be slightly out of line.

Biff

I've recently had the same problem, at first it did it on the slightest turn, but now only when taking a sharp right hand bend. It's drove me mad, tried takling wheel off and swapping with rear one, checked brake stone deflectors, and I can't figure out what it is...

I've not had anyone else take a look at it yet, let us know what it is if they find something, with all this hot weather and having the windows down it is becoming quite an annoyance...

Right!

I have dropped my t sport off at the dealers tonight so they can work on it tomorrow!

They have given me a 1.3 colour collection yaris, which im really quite impressed with!!! obviously not as good as the sport nut i thought it handled really well and was a nice little car all round really, bless it!!!

So i will update tomorrow as i sit here with my fingers crossed it is something fixable :crybaby:

laterz

Suprised you'd advise something like that knightrider

Thought you'd never be seen risking extensive wear ;)

Its most likely to be the stone deflector as some people have already mentioned.

I had the exact same problem - only right hand turns at low speeds (a lound grind) and a quieter one at higer speeds.

Though it was the brakes for ages, had the stone deflectors looked at and adjusted and it solved it for ages. Started doing it again recently so I just adjusted them again and now its gone.

Happened all the time on my Probe V6, pain in the *****, but simple and cheap to solve.

Chances are Mr T will tell you its something else and charge you ****loads to have it fixed.

me? never :P

Well my car is now grind free!!! i cant remember exactly what they said it was but it was something around the brake disc area misaligned, so it sounded something cheap and simple in the end. Good job really!!
