Hi

My dads a genius. He reversed the gold yaris into a wall in our own driveway! Its hard to take. This was my first car and sinse he's started using it, its gone downhill fast. Dirty and battered. :ffs:

The plastic part has escaped damaged but its sticking out a little. The metal part needs replacing.

Whats the best route to take? Get it all done from toyota, private garage or 2nd hand from a scrapyard?

I'd like to put it on myself but i've tried taking it off before and it dont shift.

Am i right in saying that french and japan cars are different fittings?

There must be some revesing blind spot on the yaris, cos when i was looking for mine nearly every car i saw had the back corners scraped, even dealers were selling these scuffed up cars!

Saw one on ebay a few days ago. Otherwise try a scrappie, as i think they're 90 quid from Mr. T

Are we saying a rear T-sport bumper is 90 quid right from the dealer? :help:

The rear valance for a normal Yaris costs about £40 from MrT but you will need to specify whether it is a French or Jap made one as the fitting is different. Then all you need to do is get it sprayed.

Thanks

Try yor local bodyshop for a quote. Easy job for them and they'll get the colour spot on.

I know, saw that... Inquiring about shipping with them. It's a Phase1 though, would have preferred Phase2.

If anyone can recommend a breaker who will ship, I'm in no hurry to obtain the part but I'd go for it if it were available.

TBH I doubt that the rear lower will cost that much from MrT - see if you can line up a decent spray shop first before you do anything else.

This may sound stupid, but how do you tell, does it have anything to do withe the 'made in japan' sticker in the windscreen by any chance??

I'll do my best to resist the temptation!

Actually, just thought...... I have no choice but to go to Romford. Its on my dad's way to work and be taking it in. I'll go and meet him and make sure they dont f:censor:k us around!

Wish me luck!

If my car is a japanese car how does the lower part come off? From what i remember i've removed 2 bolts before but had no joy. Anything else holding it in place? I'll get a quote from toyota and then try another body shop.

I;ve had a quote from a local garage and its £322!!!!!!!! :ffs:

They must have seen me coming.

Here's the breakdown of costs:

Labuor - 147

Rear lower panel - 44

Sundries clips etc - 2.88

Rust protect - 8

Paint and materials - 72

Those who say Mr T cost £90 - does that include everything from labour to paint?
