The Mighty Quinn with Denzel Washington seems to fit the bill as Sheryl Lee Ralph was also in Moesha.

However, some of the other bits don't add up. I'm stuck.

 CORRECT

Denzal Won a best Supporting actor Oscar for 'Glory' and a Best Actor Oscar for 'Training Day'.

So, technically then, two Oscars :D

I also thought he might have done more than 36 films.

Denzal was born on December 28th 1954 making him a youthful 50 years young.

It's true, but I can't believe it. I thought he was at least ten years younger. That's the Hollywood lifestyle for you!

Ok, so pressure's on for me to find a quote, then? I'll need a couple of ticks to think of something properly challenging ...

Easy if you've seen the film, and also funny in context :D

We can love our pets, we just can't luuurrvve our pets.

Stars a very well-known actress, I think giving the year would make it too easy.

Ok, I prostrate myself at the feet of a proper guru and beg for forgiveness :D

Back to my question ... the lead and the supporting actress differ in height by about 12in, hence the use of an Apple box for some scenes, with the supporting actress being featured quite recently in the Gold forum.

Easy - truth about cats and dogs!

Yes, spot on

The mismatched stars in question were of course Uma Thurman (6ft) and Janeane Garofalo (5ft).

In the film, Janeane Garofalo plays a vet hosting a radio phone-in show where a caller rings up to complain that his dog is giving him a nasty rash, to which she replies with the quoted line.

Uma Thurman recently made it to Gold (guilty party not named ... ) and the film came out in 1996.

Your turn Fidge!

Paul.

The funny thing is... I thought Jeneane was actually the better looking of the two!

Anyhoo...
