:help: Hi

I have an intermittant knocking from the suspension mostly when i go over small bumps/potholes in the road, speedbumps seem ok.

I have been told that it is prossibly the link bars or d bushes.

Are these easy to fix???

What equipment would I need???

Without Pushing/pulling at the wheels and steering mounts etc a diagnosis is really impossible. The noise you describe could equally be attributed to the ball-joints or trackrod ends.

get the wheels off and prod around - any joint which is worn enough to give a knock over bumps should make itself clear to you.

As for tools - you will need

(i) a ball-joint splitter - the canterlever type (£17 from Halfords)

(ii) a decent socket set

Copy parts for ball-joints and track rod ends will be OK

Link bar ends will be dealer only (I think)

If its the link-bar ends they will have sheared off (they used to do that on the Corollas) and the corroded end may have to be drilled out - a nut-splitter may be needed (or mole grips if the nut is rusted).

Good luck
