Diesel Idling

I noticed that the manual for my D-4D states that if the car is driven at high-ish

speed ( > 50 mph ) for a reasonable length of time that the engine should be left to idle for 1 to 2 minutes before switching off at the end of a journey. I was wondering why this was ? This is my first diesel so I'm unsure whether it's a diesel or Toyota thing.

If it's a Turbocharged Diesel, it's to prevent oil starvation to the Turbo Impeller bearings - the Turbo remains spinning at a higher RPM than the engine at idle conditions following a high speed run.

I presume that the act of manouvering into a roadside space will probably do the same job and not require the extra 2 minutes listening to the radio ?
