With all this talf of 2 FAst 2 Furious, Lets nominate our favourite car chase/crash/scene from the TV or movies ever.

Lets think........A couple to kick this off then..............

Blues Brothers - Most Police cars wrecked in a single movie ever apparentely.

Bullitt - Original car chase that helped kick it all off in the movies.

Taxi and Taxi 2 get my vote, both superb films although the sequel had to be the better movie...

Duel ???

Cannonball Run and Smokey and the Bandit have to be classics, how about The Dukes of Hazard ??

Most of any kind of car. 317 if I remember correctly.

Saw a nice one at the weekend. Great mini chase in 'The Bourne Identity'. I think it's going to steal first place away from Ronin.

Speed Racer. :)

Similar theme but not quite. Kris Kristofferson in 'Convoy'.

Grand Prix.

matrix reloaded (highway chase).

Well its a car a truck and a motorbike

Sorry to pick a sci-fi but if anyones seen the movie the car chase goes on for what seems like 15 or more minutes and it is seriously good

think the italian job gets my vote along with all the old ones. in the world of cgg(computer generated graphics) its easy to make a car chase look better than it is. at least with the oldies all the stunts actualy had to be performed

thats why I nominated Taxi and Ronin

all the driving in those films was 100% done by real people - not a pixel of CGI in sight

Dawsy made a Good comment about the special FX in todays films. The car stuff can be faked to a degree.

Back in the 60's/70's and going through the 80's there was and still is a Stunt driving school in France that did most of the driving for the 007 movies. Remy Jullienne is the mans name and the team did some amazing and crazy stuff with cars.

Italian Job driving was outstanding especially with those tiny cars.

Canonball films for chaos.........

Fair coments, I have to say though CGI, only works to enhance the scenes and so what of it B) B) .

The Matrix Reloaded has probible more CGI than anyother movie. The thing is though you still can't draw a car and expect people to find it believable. So the movie creaters did the scenes with real vehicles and stunt men, the only stuff that's CGI is the fighting and jumping around (didn't see any one riding a 996 to the limit in the italian job). They even created a 1.5mile highway as there were too many crashes and action to rent a public highway. If any of you have seen the making too you'd know.

One other thing CGI is a great part of modern movies, and in 20 years you won't know the difference. Anyway it's a great scene and deserves better from all you oldies.

As you say Deejay, the vehicles will be driven by stuntmen. It's the picture that can be enhanced as in 2 Fast 2 Furious. Now that was too much....

Haven't seen Matrix 1 or 2 yet so can't comment on that but if there is a car or vehicle in action then I wanna hear about it in this thread.

Still, you can't beat a good ol' smash 'um up police type chase.

I think Bad Boys 2 will be a blast. The first was excellant.

Will & Martin make the perfect partners in a movie such as this.

Did anyone see that cult 'underground' film - a bit of which was shown on Top Gear a few weeks back.

All I can remember is that it was shot through the screen of a car being driven by an absolute nutter around Paris.

Anyone know anything more about it ?
