Standard Yaris Cd Player...

Hiya everyone,

Now I'm not suggesting you guys are as silly as me... but thought I would share this with you.

I didn't drive the yaris all weekend, so gave her a nice warm up this morning to defrost (thanks Leeky) and when she was ready drove off for the motorway journey ahead. Decided to listen to some tunes and realised the CD Player was dead! Then realised, worse still, I already had a CD in there. :!Removed!:

After reading about everyone's going kaput lately I thought mine had given up the ghost and feared the worse. I ejected the CD a couple of times, tried another one and another to no avail.

The something occurred to me - maybe it was just cold? After about half an hour, I ejected the CD and inserted it again. Woohoo it worked!! :D

So just wanted to say that now it's getting cold, it's best not to leave a CD in the player for any length of time. I think this is what caused the problem

Over and out :)

Hehe yeah - I'll get me Gran to knit one ;)

I think the lens did get misted up. The player had been perfect up until this morning. When I first took the CD out it was freezing cold though.

I've never been too keen on leaving a CD in there ever since I almost lost my precious Ultimate Dirty Dancing CD which was stuck in Karis when she crashed.... luckily they managed to get it out... but ever since then, I always take them out when I'm done with them!

Light a fire next to the CD player, and see if that solves the problem.

It's called condensation kids! It be a bugger in this cold weather! You just got to let it warm through for about 30mins first. If you read the instructions on any CD/DVD/Video player or any electrical device really it'll tell you that going from a warm to cold place or vice-versa will have a bad effect.

Oh, love the avatar Camshaft... from Jackie Chans 'Who am I' if im not mistaken?? Lovely white Evo IV!!

No I will not be doing that at all. Dirty Dancing was voted the best chick flick of all time aswell so we have more of a reason to have the cd too :P :P

Yeah - it's the first time it's happened since I've had the car and I think leaving a CD in the player caused the main problem.

And who are you calling a 'kid'? I'm 5 years older than you matey! <_<

I know nobody reads the manual... tut-tut! Actually, have to say i don't, but I sell CD/DVD polayers everyday, and lots of people wanna see the manuals!

Thats about half of all his Chinese 90's one's!!

It's the one where he begins in Africa... he loses his memory and doesn't know why he's being chased by the CIA... he just kicks their asses when they get too close! There's the EVo IV and a Dakar-Rally spec Pajero (I think!) It's good stuff! (If you don't mind some fairly dodgy dubbing and a shaky story line!)
