3s - Fe Engines

Hi,

I need to obtain a good secondhand 3S - FE engine or a good cylinder head assembly.

Can anyone tell me if it matters what year of engine I purchase, in terms of technical developments etc?

I don't want to buy a great engine that won't be compatible with my car , which is a 1998 Rav 4 by the way.

The 3s-ge would give you a lot more poke

Currently just interested in getting the 3S-FE engine right!

Do you know when the revision 3 was introduced and what was changed?

Will a head from an earlier engine be ok?

Thanks for the list, unfortunately the Rav 4 seems to be the only model not mentioned in the S series list. Do you think this is just an omission, or are the Rav engines different?
