i didnt like egypt - the pyramids and everything is awe inspiring, but the poverty, begging and crime really put a downer on the whole experience...

You cant walk for 5 mins without a 10 year old trying to sell you something (usually rocks of the floor), and if you give anyone any cash, its like sharks smelling blood! your engulfed by them!

by the way, incase you didnt know Maui is a hawaiian island ;)

yeah thats exactly the same in bulgaria, the minute you step foot out of the airport the poverty hits you in the face.

maui?

What about Paris? Its always going to be romantic and the money you save on the airfare getting there can be spent on a smarter hotel. You can have dinner and a show at the Moulin Rouge, stand at the top of the Eiffel Tower as the sun sets spend a few days wandering the streets of Montmartre, window shop in the Rue St Honoré and have a coffee by the side of the Champs Elysée.

If you tire of the city and decide you need some beach then hop on the TGV (First Class - naturally) and find your self beside the Med a couple of stress-free hours later...

Well, it sounds good to me.

Thailand's good too. I spent 2 months in Bangkok once and for all its dirt and pollution I love it, but I never got to see much outside of the metropolis so its somewhere I'll be going back to.

Hong Kong and China are other destinations I want to go to. Some parts of southern China are stunning (I've seen the piccys my boss has brought back from his trips) and HK should fulfil and shopping desires you have!

All depends on how active you want to be really, but whatever you choose then make sure its something that you won't forget too soon
