Hi,

Recently i bought a HP laptop and has all the gizmos, which one of them is wireless technology.

What i want to ask is: is there any way of making my lan adsl/broadband router wireless, just for my laptop only as i already have 2 pc connected to the router. i.e is there any type of adaptor which connects into a empty lan socket in the back of my router and sends a signal to my laptop wireless'ly?

HELP! :help:

Thanks

yes, its called a Wireless Access Point.

You can get them from Linksys/Netgear etc... some routers have integrated wireless, so avoid those, you just want the 10/100 attached Access points.

yes, its the setup i have.

I have a 4 port ADSL router, and a Linksys access point through the ethernet.

Its handy, cos i can choose when to have the wireless on.

Personally I would just buy the wifi asdl broadband router as there's only one box so there's less to go wrong, it's more secure, and it will be easier to setup/configure  !

Have a go on eBay for a cheap second hand router!

I have the linksys wireless G broadband router and I can't fault it!

WEP key can be found in about 25min

If you want a more secure wifi then go for 802.11i
