Engine Problems

hi guys, im new to this site and i am a little bit worried with a problem i have.

I bought a toyota corolla 1.4 D-4D 5 months ago and yesterday my father needed the car and so he drove it and when he came back he told me that he noticed when idle and he presses the clutch the engine sound changes but the rev counter needle doesnt move. it does it when it was cold and even hot and when he releases the clutch it changes again. my father said that there might be a problem with something called trust washer in the middle of the crank and im freaking out. i didnt hear the sound before because i am always with the radio on. are there any other corollas like mine that do the same thing? (diesel)

thanks

sounds like your thrust bearing which is part of the clutch kit. if its still under warranty they should replace it for you

What kind of noise are we talking about?

As you push the clutch you take a slight load of the gearbox which can make a tone change to the engine without it actually being a problem.

If there's a problem with the thrust washers there'll be either a clunking noise or some sort of grinding noise

there is like a tone change in the engine sound. the rev meter in the dashbord does not move the needle when there is this change of sound. when i then release the clutch the tone come back to what it was before pressing the clutch and it does a small clang when i only release the clutch not press it
