Hi to everyone

Please find attached pic of a custom made induction kit. Filter is a genuine Apexi filter and piping was done by the an exhaust shop.

Sounds great and engine breathes easily oer 3000 rpm.

What you guys think of the kit? and any comment about the placememt for the filter?

piping was done with stainless steel tube.

Got to admit the Greddy looks better but its very original! Those engines deffo need a cover though and then a nice stainless pipe instead of that black piping (ie the Envy Filter) and would look nicer!

The envy filter would not fit!

I would imagine this is a cheaper option than the GReddy version and you get the improved filtration of the apexi filter!

hi

Thanks for the comments

The piping costed 32 pounds and I fitted it myself. I changed the piping color to grey since the pic was taken. I had to custom make the piping as apexi never made a kit for the 1.0 engine. Moreover I had to change the position of my Battery to get some more space. I will post a pic soon of the current settings. now am trying to shield the filter from the engine heat with some aluminium panel(future mods)

Unfortunately , am located iin Mauritius(Indian Ocean)

I decided to get the apexi because of filtration efficiency because the maf sensor of the vitz can get damaged quite easily. Moreover the Greddy locates the filter next to the radiator fan, I am quite sure it will suck only hot air

What's wrong with the filtration of the GReddy filter? :P

Everyone bums the Apexi for the filtration quality! There was some test somewhere!

You should make up a batch of conversion kits and sell them, there'd be a lot of interest from all the 1.0 yaris owners!!! great job!

would really like to sell these conversion kit but unfortunately am located in Mauritius(Indian Ocean). Quite far from the UK. Shipping cost would be too expensive

I wasn't after any post but cheers anyway!

And I know we're lucky if we even get any power gain, we could even lose power if it's located incorrectly!

I will checking the 0-100 or 0-80 km/hr soon to see the difference in time with the filter and post the result here

The best I could do for 0-100 was 15 seconds. But with some special conditions:

1.Weather was hot, engine water temp was around 84-88 deg. Not that good

2. Car is on 15 inch wheels an with the widest tire combination(195/50/15 not ideal at all). The published test was done on 175/70/14. Moreover I had some tire spin oon start

3. Had one person onboard plus aaroud 15 kg in trunk

4. Had a half filled tank

If you take account of all these thing, I could well end up with 14 seconds or less!

Performance engine parts on the car only includes the following:

1 Apexi induction kit

2 Iridium Spark plugs

3 Mix of Esso ultron and Mobil 1 oil!!

i think thats a bit of a ***** + bull story mate that or you really messed up the timing.........

standard Tsport 0-80 15.175 seconds

my tsport 0-80 in 12.274 and 0-90 in 15.539

not got to 100mph on the strip, but there aint 1 chance a 1.0's managed that mate, suggest you get it timed properly

other wise congrats on the apexi fitted to the 1.0!!!! looks better than greddy

Get an Apexi RSM in there .. it'll give you 100m 200m 400m, 0-60, 0-120 and 0-180 times.

(Oh I'd love a car to actually be able to time my 0-180 times)
