Envy!!!!!!!!

Remember you can't just wang on a steal headgasket, you need to prep the block and head surface for it...

The tollerances in surface finish are far smaller for steal gaskets!!!!

err, it already has a ge head doesn't it?

There's really no point in using a steel gasket on a 3s-ge. The stock one is perfectly adequate for a stock engine. It is MORE likely to leak than using a standard gasket. Steel gaskets need a much cleaner/flatter surface to ensure a good seal.

If you really, really must use a steel gasket, I think the 3s-gte one (rev 2) will fit (I'm sure fensport will be able to confirm this). But don't think it's going to be an upgrade, it's more of a downgrade or expensive alternative at best.

Wont a steel one lower the compression, with an NA you want to up the compression.

It depends what thickness gasket is used. I'm not sure what the stock gasket is (possibly 1.2mm? ). Changing the CR with a different thickness gasket is a bit of a bodge - it messes up the shape of the squish areas at TDC.

Now I've logged in and seen roadrunner's signature (claims to be supercharged, and running nitrous), it puts a slight different twist on things.

It's an eletric SC .. so it's not a high compression thing.

the thinckness (or lack of) in HG is what puts my s2000 at 247bhp not the UK 237bhp :)

I spoke to fensport today & they recommend a 1.0mm steele gasket trouble is it's £185 + vat. :ffs:
