Hi,

Does anyone play the above on here? If anyone does we could organise some online races? :D

I've got it, but not played it since I got GT Legends. I find the classic cars a lot more fun to drive and the online races don't seem to have as many issues, which is good :) Probably the 2 most realistic driving sims since Grand Prix Legends either way.

I've got GTR, but I can't get online with it. Scanning various sim forums brings up the same for lots of fok, and Simbin haven't bothered their @rses to resolve it. They have the worst support. (No, scratch that, for support to be bad, there actually has to be some).

I couldn't get the game to run after I bought it, due to that Starforce crap they use for copy protection. Simbin never responded to my e-mails, and their official forums are just as useless. Only got it going before Xmas when the 1.5 patch came out and I figured I may as well give it another go. Finally got it working, but no online. :angry:

Tried the GTL demo and loved it, but I won't touch it after going through all of that.

Ive also got GT Legends, but not installed it yet, is it a standalone game from GTR?

Must say i agree with you, very realistic :yes: a lot harder than GT4...

Yeah ive heard of a lot having online problems, i just clicked on the register button in the game and it allowed me to register (2nd time of trying though). Maybe just keep trying to register for online??

Yeah GTL is standalone, it uses an updated version of the GTR engine from what I can make out. I have to set the shader level to DirectX 7 to get decent performance, their DX9 shaders don't seem to be the most efficient and you might struggle with them if you don't have a ninja graphics card ;)

GTR was a pain online, really good when it worked but tended to go wrong far too often. Main gripes were the lobby server crashing, which not only booted everyone from the lobby but from every online game running too, races not always being the right length (especially on 3rd party tracks / mods) and sometimes having to reregister as it had forgotten your account existed... Not had any of that with GTL though, which is good.

Its my bros PC and he's just upgraded it so it runs GTR pretty well, i know hes got an Athlon 3700+ San Diego and a Radeon X850 XT, with 2gb of RAM to come :D
