How To Get Rid Of A Crap Car....

I know Peugeots Customer Service is crud, they tried to tell us nothing was wrong with our 206... but thats just a joke.... if theres something wrong with the car, the guy deserves something to be done about it!

And hey - he wants to replace it with a Corolla - good on him - the guy deserves my money!

No he doesn't.. he should have done more research before forking out 16k for a Peugot in the 1st place... if he did, he would have known about these problems..carrying out all this research now is just like bolting the door after the horse has bolted.

If he is now saying the Corolla is a more reliable car, why did he not buy one instead of a Peugot??

I wouldn't.. and didn't.. spend a large sum of money on a car without doing a little bit of reaserch on the car.. and on the Dealer i bought it from, without asking a few questions 1st.

But Davy.... like he says, he owned Peugeots previously and had no problems, so he assumed he'd have no problems with the 307....

Regardless of his lack of knowledge about Peugeot being crud, the guy doesnt deserve to have such an awful car and Peugeot to treat him the way they have, so I'm proud to say I've added a quid to his Corolla fund - I hope he crushes the car, I hope it gets loads of publicity and Peugeot are forced to actually do something about it. Why should he be lumbered with a faulty car - if it was a kettle or a toaster he could have taken it back to the shop for a refund or replacement.

And hey, he could be a member on here soon!

yeah its not his inability to pick a decent car that is the crux of the issue.. its peugots disgusting negligence to customer support. i donated 50p, he deserves it IMO... as him doing this will raise awareness, and Peugot will have to buck their ideas up- which will in turn benefit all the other peugot owners who are having problems. all that for just 50p- the kinda sum you find down the back of a sofa

That is simply awful customer service.

I can't believe all that has happened, and the car has done such little mileage!

If those problems had started within the notice period; however, I would've taken the car back and asked for a refund!

didn't quite mean it was his fault entirly .. that was a little tongue cheek... but it was true to say that he should have done his resaerch first.

I fully agree though.. no-one should have to put up with the treatment he has been getting from Pugeot.. but it's Pugeot who should be giving this guy another car, not the general public.

I think it's time (in fact.. it's long before time) that the UK brung (is brung a word?) out a Lemon Law.. where by if a product has been proven to have so many faults, the manufacturer are obliged under this law to replace the product with a new one.

The Sale of Goods Act (+ various case law) already covers this :) The dealership has 3 chances to rectify the fault, after which you can reject the car. They're not going to be keen on you doing this of course, but at the end of the day it's their problem and not your's. If you don't do this, or accept some other resolution from the dealer I think you then have to accept that's your decision. Begging for 13k to buy a new car doesn't wash with me, he could easily part ex it for something else but that wouldn't put him in a brand new car worth twice what his old one was... for free.

I quite agree. Whilst this is a funny site and brings poor customer service to light, I don't feel compelled to 'donate' to his cause.

He really should inlist more media help (Watchdog et al), using his site as a tool for publicity. It's not up to the public to make up for his misfortune via donations, however amusing the idea. He should be asking for support in the form of other people's experiences and getting them to join him in a formal complaint.

Interesting read, but I won't be donating...

i fully understand your oppinion about not willing to donate.. but at the end of the day its just about helping some one out, and getting one over on a huge, de-humanised, de-sensatised firm like Peugot. my view is - i could find a small amount like 50p in the street. so just send it his way. he and all other peugot owners will benefit alot more than me from that 50p.

he even took the time to thank me for my donation! genuine guy.

I feel pity for the guy.

I had the misfortune of owning a 306 for 18 months which has to be the worst car I have owned (and I had a metro before)

I vowed never to own another french car

Buy a french car, be prepared for it to be !Removed! and to regret it forever.....

My god mother just bought a brand new megane CC (snigger) EVERY SINGLE TIME she has taken it out, it has had to come back on a tow truck!!!!

Hi. Mark from Crushmy307 here.

Just wanted to pop in and say thanks to the friendliest forum on the net.

Really, thanks for all your support.

I actually looked at buying a Rav 4 instead of the 307 but the Peugeot garage gave me a better px deal. (or so it seemed)

I'm so pee'd off I didn't choose the Rav 4. I've never been into cars really, but these last couple of years have taught me a great deal and I will definetly do my research next time. Perhaps I was a little naive to expect a working car after shelling out so much money. :-(

I realise that asking the public is a real cheek but I really didn't have anywhere else to turn to. I can't believe the amount of support I've been getting from people. I'm amazed that in just over two weeks I've had 15000 visitors. I'm gobsmacked.

I've noticed a few visits from Peugeot on the site so who knows, maybe they might help people next time a 307 goes wrong!!

I noticed the new 307 has had completely new electrics from Bosch.

ah well, thanks again for the support and I hope you'll keep visiting the site.

hope to post here soon as a real toyota owner!!!

Mark

Welcome to TOC Mark.. i hope you didn't think i was too cheeky  but hindsight IS a wonderfull thing eh!!

Never read through your full list of problems.. did you have the one that when you opened and closed the door the mileage shot up??

Hopefully your naming and shaming will get Pugeot to get their fingers out and sort you out with a replacement car.

Take it to the TV's watchdog program... or has the 307 been on there allready??

Best of luck on your quest Mark
